Projected to be within dealership showrooms by the fall of 2015, the 2016 Ford Taurus strives for greater fuel economy, a lighter weight and increased swiftness. The Taurus has been deemed the sedan that has become “too big” due to it being one of the most spacious sedans on the road as well as one of the heaviest. Previous models weighed in at approximately 4,050 pounds (closer to 4,500 in regards to the SHO trim level.

It is predicted that the pricing of the vehicle will be on average in the neighborhood of $35,000 for the base trim level model. As the trim levels increase, so will the pricing and there is speculation that the SHO trim level will not making a showing within the 2016 model year. On average, the 2016 Ford Taurus has outweighed its closest competitors, the Kia Cadenza and the Chevrolet Impala, by 200 to 300 pounds.
