When Ford introduces the 2016 Ford Fusion, it will have made some major changes to this mid-size sedan. The inside of the vehicle will be redesigned and some major changes will also be done to ensure better performance. Ford is however keeping the car under heavy cover and is not releasing much information about this vehicle. Even so, when the car was spotted being tested on the road, one could not help but notice that the front and the rear finishes have been revised. Even the transmission has been upgraded.
2016 Ford Fusion Exterior and Interior Redesign
Most of the changes done to the exterior of the 2016 Ford Fusion are around the fascias at the front and rear of the vehicle. The new Fusion has been upgraded and modified without needing to change its platform. On the whole, the car seems to look much slimmer than before. This has been done to address the needs of the American buyer who wants a vehicle that does not look the same as the Aston Martin.
The interiors of the car have also been changed quite radically. The dash design is new and the center console has also undergone some changes for the better. Some more changes have been made to the infotainment systems offered on board this car. For example, instead of the previous Blackberry QNX, Ford will not introduce the Microsoft SYNC. The components used in the interiors as well as the surfaces inside the cabin have also been improved upon. Wood trim is offered along with contrast stitching.
The new 2016 Ford Fusion will also prove to be more efficient. Changes have been made to its transmission with the introduction of a new nine-speed transmission, which has been developed in collaboration with Common Motors. This nine-speed transmission replaces the existing six-speed transmission. The car also comes with front-wheel drive and an optional all-wheel drive is also available. The Fusion also comes with standard safety features like blind spot detection and collision avoiding systems as well as anti-braking system.
2016 Ford Fusion Engine Specs
The Fusion will continue to use the same engine as its earlier model.
