A two-row, crossover, five seat luxury SUV from Lincoln, the 2015 Lincoln MKX is the next big craze that is going to happen in a segment that has a huge competition. Based on Ford Edge, Lincoln MKX differentiates itself from its platform with the help of posh and luxurious accessories packed inside it.

2015 Lincoln MKX SUV has a big spacious cabin, which can hose five people with comfort and ease. The legroom for rear row expands up to 39.6 inches along with 32.3 cubic feet for cargo, with its seats having the ability to be folded in a 60-40 split to accommodate luggage and expand cargo space up to 68.6 cubic feet. Comfortable seats with power adjustment, heating and ventilation facility being available.

Electronic system inside includes 10 speaker audio system, USB ports, proximity key, voice command system, a touch enabled infotainment system satellite radio and Bluetooth connectivity. A DVD entertainment system is also there for the back seat denizens to savour. It also has parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, panoramic sunroof, rear view camera and THX audio entertainment system.

Basic design of Ford Edge is visible on 2015 Lincoln MKX while its enormous front split wing grille makes it stand out from its platform car. With a sufficiently good roofline and prompt tail lights, the MKX leaves little to say. 2015 MKX stretches at 87.5 inches, which is way better than its competitors. The base model has 18 inch aluminium wheels with optional 20 inches and 22 inches wheels also being made available. MKX also has an option which enables it to tow 3500 pounds for those who need it.

A humungous 3.7 litre V6 is housed under the hood of this MKS which can prep out 305 horsepower at 6500 rpm along with 280 pound feet of torque at peak 4000 rpm. This engine is coupled with a 6 speed automatic transmission system with either all-wheel drive or front wheel drive, and can reach 60 miles per hour from zero in about eight seconds. The transmission also has paddle shift control and sport mode.

The 2015 Lincoln MKX boasts quite a good figure when it comes to fuel consumption. The front wheel drive variant clocks 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on highway while the all-wheel drive variant clocks 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on highway. Although these look quite good, but cars like Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLK, Acura RDX and BMW X3 all have better values and gives serious competition to it.

The front wheel drive base model of 2015 Lincoln MKX has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) setting off at $39800. Medium range variants just top $42700 which has some of the premium features in them while the elite variants can cost you over $45500. A full package of MKX will take the price up to $50000. Cars like Lexus RX, Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Acura RDX looks equally good and will be good competitors to the MKX in market.
